Life is busy!

Life with two kids is pretty busy. I've done some crafting, but I haven't been very good about taking pictures. I did make these:

Not the kids, although they are mine, but the little pumpkin hats. Originally I planned to make one for Audrey, but then Sam asked for one, so I had to oblige. I think they turned out pretty cute.
I'll work on posting some more.

Baby Love

Just wanted to post this:

Baby Crafts

I am now in full baby craft mode. I made a slipcover for my Baby Bjorn. I have an older model that was passed down, and it works great so I didn't want to spend the money on an upgrade, but I wanted a cooler look. I saw these on etsy

but I didn't want to spend that much, plus I don't think it would fit my older model, so I made my own. It's really hard to take a picture of yourself with a baby strapped to the front of you, so as soon as I can persuade my husband, I'll post a pic. It turned out really cute and cost about $6 to make.

My new obsession are these two things:

Pacifier tethers from Libby
Audrey really likes her pacifier, and I like to have a bit of variety, so these are a must.
I just recently bought this pattern, and am in the process of creating some of these:

Abigail Booties by Make It and Love It
I have made one pair, but my daughter has really long, thin feet, so I have to mess with it and make another pair. I am so excited. I have many pairs of shoes in my future I think:)

Rant of the day

So, here's my newest pet peeve. Why is it that everyone thinks they are so new and modern because they are canning? Do they have any idea how many years people have been canning? I myself learned to can as a young girl with my Mom and Grandma. I have inherited jars so old, I am guessing some of them are 75 years old, used by maybe 4 or 5 generations of my family. The thing is, that's nothing if you are a farmer. Farmers and their families have been canning forever, So why then do these new urban people think they are so cool and hip because they are canning? Get over yourself. A few years ago knitting was the rage, all the young girls wanted to do it. Now I find myself being a great minority with my handcrafts. If it weren't for the internet, the only other creative outlet I would have is my Mom and the Knitting Guild I joined, just to have someone to talk to about knitting.
So, point here is, you didn't invent canning, you just came to a party that's been going on for like 200 years. You are a little late.

Crafts are fun!

So, I've made a few things. Not that many. One of my favorites is this little sweater I made for my baby girl. It's a pattern called "Baby Kina". I bought it from Ravelry. Really cute sweater, fun to knit. I think I'll make another, but with long sleeves.

This is for me, anyway

So, I'm back to my blog. I haven't written anything for a long time. I just sort of lost the will to do it, but every time I make something fun, I want somewhere to record it, so here it is. It's been a busy year for us here, my husband got a new job, then got another new job, my son turned 4 and is finally using the potty. Best news is, in May we had a baby girl. Her name is Audrey. Pretty cute if I say so myself.
So, as I start to craft for a small person, I want to record it for myself. If someone is out there, cool, but if not, that's ok too:)
