A million things...

Well, it's been a busy time around the house of Crafty Girl. I cannot bear to think how quickly summer is slipping away. I have so many things I want to do. The days are not long enough.
Last time I mentioned the quilt and booties I am making for my friend. They are fashioned after Sock Monkey. I have to do a bit more tweaking, but they are coming along.

The hat has some issue with the mouth, I have to fix it. I need to add a pom pom to the top. The booties need some ribbon ties, and some attention to the mouth as well.

I made these, because I made her baby a quilt, and this all just goes together.

After seeing Little Big Nest blog and looking at her mantle I felt inspiration to redo mine. What do you think?

I am pretty happy with it really. I have put some pictures of my son in the window, as well as some pictures of my Grandfather. I really like it. Especially because I can change the paper out, put different pictures, cards, etc. It's fun and cute. The window actually came out of our house, so it's pretty neat anyway.

Next week we are going camping, which means we get to hang out in one of my favorite little places that I have helped to create:

So, what projects do I take, and what book to read. Such decisions. Let's hope for cool weather.

McCrafty

So, lately I've been working on a quilt, hat and booties for my friends baby. Seriously, this project is the one that just will never end. I am hoping to have it done this weekend. Now I'm on to making some American Girl clothes for my niece. I hope those turn out ok. I will post pics soon.
Also, I kind of love this right now:Mantle

My husband is losing his job. I cannot take much more. I scratched my cornea. My Dad has a heart problem. It's just one thing after another. Sorry to be a whiner, but it's rough. What can I say. SJDL;JJEOPNSKLA;JIOA;JTIKANGKSLA;NSUID NLSOT!

Summerlin How I Love Thee!

I am back at my blog, not sure if anyone reads it, but I enjoy documenting my crafty endeavors anyway. I just recently finished Summerlin by Kathryn Ivy . I simply love this dress! I made it for my neice's third birthday, and it was a definite hit. Best part was, I spend 50 cents on the fabric for the bottom, and I already had the top yarn. Weird. The bottom is a skirt I found at a church rummage sale. I liked it, but knew it was too small for me, but it was perfect for this pattern. The top was knit in Lion Brand Cotton Ease, terracotta. I couldn't be happier. Next up is trying to size it down to knit a replica for American Girl dolls. My other niece loves her dolls, so I thought it would be an awesome birthday gift. We'll see if I can do it.
